The vetters suggested that the Arabic names (e.g. hajj for the pilgrimage to Mecca) should be allowed; the setters chose to ignore this suggestion. I know of at least one game where "hajj" was given as the answer; fortunately the question reader was confident enough to allow it.
For the record, the Arabic names are:
• | Testimony of faith | Shahada |
• | Prayer | Salah |
• | Charity or almsgiving | Zakat |
• | Fasting | Sawm |
• | The pilgrimage to Mecca | Hajj |
According to Wikipedia, the Quran recognises three types of fasting: ritual fasting, fasting as compensation for repentance, and ascetic fasting. Fasting during Ramadan presumably falls into the first category.
